Insurance, cost, and FAP Groups
I take a limited number of individual clients, but I do not take insurance. You are encouraged to determine if you have out-of-network benefits through your insurance. If this is the case, I am willing to write a receipt of services. You would then submit the receipt and collect reimbursement directly from your insurance company. If you choose to do this, is it your responsibility to contact your insurance company and discuss if these options are available through the plan that you have. You are responsible for payment at or before the time of service.
Cost of groups: The cost of the groups is $265 a month with a $15 discount if paid by cash or check. Group pre-screenings are $150 each and three pre-screenings are required prior to entering the group. Two pre-screening sessions may be adequate for adolescent referrals. Pre-screening sessions are paid for at the time of service. You are not obligated to complete all three pre-screenings if you decide not to do the groups. Once you decide to attend the groups you will be expected to pay for the groups one month in advance. There is no discounted rate for the monthly group rate but students and other persons with limited incomes may qualify for reduced pre-screening rates.
Individual therapy is $175 for a 45-minute session. I have a limited number of spots available for clients who are interested in my services but cannot pay the full fee. I am also willing to provide half hour sessions for $100, and am willing to provide this service by phone if you have seen me individually and live in MA. While you will be expected to obtain or seek individual therapy while in DBT skills groups, you are more than welcome to find individual therapy through your insurance or through other means. Because I have no control over the types of services individual practitioners provide, I have no expectation that your individual therapist be trained in DBT.
Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) groups
FAP groups (www.faptherapy.com) are available for clients that have completed DBT skills groups, may not need DBT, and/or are looking for ways to enrich their lives through group therapy.
